5 Delicious Gluten-Free Desserts For The Holidays

Confession: I have a serious sweet tooth (ok, you probably already knew that if you’ve been following me for a while). But that’s not the only reason I wrote today’s post. The biggest reason is this: I too often go to parties and find that people who have food sensitivities are not taking care of themselves. Meaning they are eating bread even though they’re gluten free (don’t do it!).

I’ve so been there. In my early 20’s, I was instructed by my doctor to eliminate any foods that caused inflammation in my body. Naturally, I turned up to parties and family events expecting everyone to just know what foods I could and couldn’t eat. I thought, “If you invite me over for a meal, you should just know what to make special for me!”

Well, that wasn’t the smartest or most gracious approach because they more often than not had NOTHING I could eat. And I would inevitably put the hosts in a bad position because they felt horrible for not accommodating my restrictions. Ugh, not cute!

This is why I am fiercely committed to being responsible for my own dietary needs today. Whether that’s taking a look at the menu before I say yes to a girls night out, or sending my friends a list of my food allergies before they cook me a delicious meal, it’s 100% up to me to make sure I’m fed properly.

Around the holidays I think this is especially important since we are faced with unhealthy options at every corner. This Thanksgiving, I wanted to make sure that wherever you go, you always have a delicious dessert that won’t hurt your belly. Whether you’re gluten-free or vegan, I’ve scoured the web to find delicious recipes for all of you–oh, and also tasted them in between. Naturally!
