Have you ever been running around like a madwoman between meetings, events, or even social gatherings only to find yourself feeling totally stressed, totally unkempt, and totally unprepared in every way?
Oh, have I been there, my love!
To ensure I arrive feeling calm, collected, and looking my best, I’ve learned to keep some key essentials in my bag at all times. Especially when my schedule is jam-packed from 9-5. Not only does having these items on hand make me feel totally on top of my game, but they also allow me to show up as the real me—not the frazzled, ungrounded me (not cute!).
Here are five things I can’t live without on a busy day, which I explain in further detail in the video so be sure to watch.
- My Journal: No, I’m not talking about writing down my feelings or documenting my day. Some of my best ideas pop into my head during and after great meetings so this is an absolutely necessity in capturing them!
- A Caveman Bar: I’d be in big trouble if I didn’t have a delicious, protein-packed snack on hand throughout the day; let’s just say I’d be incredibly “hangry.” I love Caveman because it’s made with all-natural, non-GMO ingredients, and has 5 grams of protein. Snag your own FREE sample of two different flavors of this delicious bar HERE. You’re going to love them!
- Lavender Essential Oil: When I have a busy day, I tend to get a touch stressed, especially if I’m running late. Putting a few drops of lavender essential oil (great for relaxation) on my wrists between events or meetings always brings me back to center.
- Oil Blotting Sheets: Arriving at an event or meeting with a super oily or sweaty face is not attractive or professional. So I always keep a packet of these guys with me to blot away any perspiration or debris.
- Statement Jewelry: Being out all day usually means you need to have a little something extra on hand to jazz up your outfit for evening. I always have a pair of beautiful earrings or a necklace with me to make me feel a little glammed up for a night out.
Now I’d love to hear from you! When you have a really busy day, what do you have in your purse to survive? Please share them in the comments below because we can all benefit from your tips. Love you!

Love the idea of the lavender oil! I carry a huge Tory Burch tote on a busy day, because it has room for everything. I always make sure to have my iPad and a charger…if I get stuck somewhere at least I can get caught up on some reading. And I travel with more makeup than I would ever possibly need..never know when you are going to need a touch up! I usually keep some type of raw nuts in my purse, but I’m going to check out the cave man bars. Thanks for the tip,

Yes Elizabeth – you know what’s up! I love that you make sure you have something to read while you’re out and about. I try to always have an audio book on my iPhone and a charger on extra long days as well. So fun! Let me know if you try the bars too! Lots of love xx

A beautiful post. I have to carry food in my purse too– self love for me means balanced blood sugar. I tend to keep nuts on hand, always! I’ll be sure to check out Caveman.
Thanks!

Thanks so much Jenn!! We are SO on the same page because my blood sugar being out of whack is the exact reason I started carrying snacks in my purse! Love it xoxo

Thanks so much for this post! I must admit that my purse is typically filled with junk that I’d never use! My favs on your list are the oil blotting sheets (my skin gets super oily), statement jewelry (I LOVE big earrings and rings – they can make any outfit pop) and the snack! I just ordered samples of the dark chocolate cashew almond and dark chocolate cherry nut bars (do you see a pattern here?). The bars look AMAZING and I can’t wait to try them. Thanks Nitika!
